Blue Sentinel

I love dreaming up ideas. This little dude was originally planned for the garden in some sort of concrete mix. I didn't get past the roughing stage so he's only 21cm tall and cast in plaster because the size doesn't allow for details to come out in concrete. Assembled from 4 different parts:
1) body with head attached
2) lifted arm and axe handle
3) blade of his axe
4) shield

Material
Sculpted in Monster Clay, cast in pottery plaster
Paint
I greatly enjoyed the washing process. Simple white acrylic as a base then blue wash that was gently rubbed off. Once I master this technique I think lots of my presents will be kept simple like this rather then trying to paint in all the different colors. Has a coat of clear satin varnish for protection.
